It’s been a long time since we tasted presidential victory. But it’s been an even longer time since we felt so positive about the future, about the power of our ideas, and about the chances for finally addressing the many challenges we face. Maybe this feeling will disappear tomorrow, when the full weight of the many obstacles facing America become decidely more realistic. But tonight? Tonight we sit back in relief and amazement, lift our glasses to a man we believe in, and smile at the thought that maybe, just maybe, America can do this after all.
