On this date in 1859, Charles Darwin published his On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, which posited the theory of gradual, organic evolution.
Jack Cashill remains convinced that Origin of the Species is actually the work of abolitionist and insurrectionist John Brown, despite having no evidence other than both men sported very large, white beards.
He also thinks one “S. Claus” may be involved.
