So outgoing Chiefs GM Carl Peterson held that press conference this afternoon, at which he was to discuss leaving the team and make his final goodbyes. Now what would you call that event? “Peterson press conference”? “Chiefs team conference for Peterson”? No, no. If you’re KCTV, you lift your nose in the air a bit and use just a touch of calculated haughtiness — and you end up with “Former Chiefs GM To Comment At Event.” Nice. Can’t you just hear the air quotes around “event”? And here’s their closing paragraph: “However, Kansas City faltered the past decade and finished the season 2-14, the team’s worst record in its history.” Ouch, KCTV.
