We’re seriously not making this up. A store in Bonner Springs called “The Moon Marble Company” (which the Star describes as a “treasured” store — are we that far removed from Bonner Springs society?) is a finalist for — wait for it — the “8 Wonders of Kansas Commerce” award. I can’t believe I just wrote that sentence.
The marble company is actually pretty neat – anyways I enjoyed it as a child when my grandparents took me. But Kansas’ whole 8 wonders series is a bit ridiculous.

Moon Marble is a great place for kids; they have demonstrations Saturday mornings that show children –and science impaired adults- how marbles are made.
They also have classic games. You know: “games modern adults, much less children, no longer have the attention span or patience to play anymore.”
Ergo, the ‘treasured’ appellation…
