Sigh. Just when we were starting to think that things were finally beginning to quiet down on the whole “crazy mayor and his wife” front, renegade councilman and forever foe of injustice Ed Ford wants to start things anew. From KMBC:
A Kansas City councilman wants to expand an ongoing investigation into Mayor Mark Funkhouser to include new allegations of ethical violations.
Councilman Ed Ford has asked the city’s internal auditor to determine whether Funkhouser used photographs paid for by the city to promote his consulting business. He also wants an opinion on whether Funkhouser had a conflict of interest when he vetoed an ordinance prohibiting elected officials from having family members as regular office volunteers.
Oh boy. This isn’t going to go well. And we’re not even sure we want to know any details of any city-financed photos the mayor or co-mayor may have had anything to do with. Shudder. Then again, maybe it won’t be an issue.
I love your mayor. Let the wheel of fun continue. Unfortunately our Mayor is too good at keeping his dirty laundry under the table.
