Once again, the party that claims to abhor “big gov’ment” tries to burrow like a blood-craving tick into the most private aspects of citizens’ lives.
Kansas State Rep. Lance Kinzer, an Olathe Republican, is again pushing a bill stating that women be given the option of viewing a sonogram before they receive an abortion.
“Option.” Riiiight.
The legislation would require:
- That women be given the opportunity to see a sonogram of the fetus, hear its heartbeat and get a copy of the sonogram if they choose.
- That abortion clinics distribute a list of where women can get pregnancy counseling and care/counseling for medically challenging pregnancies.
- That the state create an informational video and website showing fetal development.
- That abortion clinics post signs telling women that coerced abortions are against the law.
Way to make an already difficult decision even more stressful, Lance. And way to betray your so-called conservative ethos. Obviously, government IS the answer when it comes to things like invasive medical procedures. Using state resources to create a Web site to show fetal development? Really?
Somewhere, Zygotic Defender and Notorious File Snatcher Phillll Kline is smiling. Actually, we are quite certain of the once-mustachioed Philliberty’s whereabouts.
AAAh! This is SUCH BULLSH*T!
Big government is Bad! Unless it is in a uterus! Then big government is Good!
Several of my brain cells just committed suicide.
Kansas will never be lacking Phill Kline clones. There will always be some blonde boy from JoCo who spends way, way to much time thinking about abortion and gays who also has an ego the size of Pluto waiting in the wings.
Wheat, sunflowers, flatness and zealots- that’s what we’ve got.
